soulful dogs

Since starting The Charlie Project, I have encountered many wonderful dogs. A number of owners have permitted me to photograph their canine friends and have shared many heartwarming stories about their time together. This project has taken on a little life of it's own and I am so thrilled to be able to spend time with writing, with photography and with dogs. Some of my favorite essays so far are featured below. You can click on their names to take you over to their special place on The Charlie Project site....Radar holds a dear spot in my heart as he is Charlie's successor and one of my most cherished dogs in this world.

radar

I am looking forward to see where this Charlie Project journey takes me...and, as always, I will take it with Sophie by my side.

I enjoy these close-up portraits of the dogs, they seem more revealing than if you'd captured a whole head shot, or a photo of the dog.

Love the barns in the previous post! As for the dogs, they are the best. I love each and every one of them. How is that sweet little Elora??

Such heart-warming photos Andrea. I am on my way to read the stories. I spoke today with a former neighbor of ours who is now 86. Even in failing health, guess what she was able to remember fondly? Her chihuahua, Hosea, who has been gone since I was a teen!!! Oh, the joy in her voice remembering that tiny little fella! Have a great weekend Andrea.

I really enjoy the photographs you take. You really have a talent for capturing the personality and character of each individual. Radar is darling, however...I can't resist Cole with his piercing eyes and hint of mischief.
