storytellers

As a writer and a photographer, I have found it helpful that I am beginning to seek out and find the stories in this world around me. I am still learning for it is somewhat of an art to be able to quiet your mind and your spirit enough to listen to these stories, as they are not told with words....but, oh! they are there...

..in the grooves of bark, worn and weathered...

...in the etchings of stone that has stood the test of time...

...in the swirling colours of a setting sun.

Sophie led me to these stories....she taught me how to listen...and what a world I have found.

Gorgeous peace in those photos!!!!!!!!!

You've inspired me to take time tomorrow to sit, listen and hear what's been going on all around me.

We love the idea of watching Babe together. And, I even happen to own the tape? From one BC owner to another, I bet you're not surprised at all.

To see the stories is magical. To put the words on paper is a gift.

You are gifted and your writing is magic. I am very grateful to have found you and your very special blog.

But you, my dear, bring OUT those stories in what you write and how you shoot your photos. I always have feelings sweep over me when I am here. They are varying but I never experience your blog as a simple observer. LOVE what you do. :)

Animals are masters at this, aren't they? Bear, my cat, is my own personal Zen Guru. He's taught me so many things, not the least of which is the importance of slowing down and not sweating the small stuff. I'm still apprenticing.

it is a gift to see what our friends show us. I am reminded of it each time I go to the gamelands and watch my dogs hear things I don't hear, smell things I don't smell and completely enjoy the moment. It reminds me to savor each day, even the ones that don't go as planned.

Bravo Sophie! What a good, sweet dog she is for you!

My girls always remind me to stop, and look around, everytime we go outside. Trixie especially, is so alert to everything that is happening around her.

Re: blog design, I am using Sherbet Blossom Designs, very reasonable. She has a dot com of the same name, if you want to check her out. She did the Sunday Baker blog (icon on my sidebar).

I've found a camera to be a great inspiration. To travel with it, seeing the world through its lens gives a different perspective that I otherwise might've missed. It's actually a gift of sorts.

Hey, thanks for the hello! I can't wait to explore your blog. I am totally nuts about my border collie and can't wait to compare notes.
Your pictures are fantastic. Maybe I can pick up some tips. I do NOT have good luck photographing PepperAnn - I can never seem to capter 'her'.
Okay, I've rambled enough.

I really don't know how you get such beautiful animal pictures. My cat refuses to sit still long enough. The shutter clicks as he's walking away everytime!!!
