sunday stills - black & white

This week's Sunday Stills challenge was black & white, using two previous challenge categories. I chose pets (big surprise) and sunrise/sunsets (an odd choice for black & white). We could not use photos previously used for Sunday Stills, but we could work within our archives.

This is my submission for pets. This is one of my favorite photos of Sophie...I have an 8x10 of it framed up in my home.

And this is my submission for sunrise/sunsets...it was a crisp winter day back in January and even Sophie had to pause to appreciate the beauty of the sun coming up over the frozen lake.

I agree...odd choice of subject for a black & white photo...nevertheless, you & Sophie nailed it. :o)

I adore the first photo of Sophie. The love in her eyes is palpable.

I too think that sunsets/rises are best in colour but this one works very well. I think the snow has a lot to do with it.

Lovely Sophie portrait.

Both photos are stunning. Sophie rests so peacefully in the first one. And that sunrise is lovely even in black and white. Nicely done : )

Sophie looks like she is just waiting for you to do something so she can do it with you. Excellent shots. That sunrise is a very nice touch with her looking at it too.

Great shots - Sophie is a doll!

I'm amazed that you were able to get a shot of Sophie without her turning to look at you. Great picture!

PS....I've been wandering through your blog. I enjoy it very much. I have a friend with a BC and she first put her pup on sheep at 4 months old. I'm completely fascinated by the part of them that knows EXACTLY what to do. It's a beautiful thing to behold.
