cat love

I've had a few fellow bloggers gently remind me that I do live in a two animal household. Elora does not get quite the coverage that Sophie does...but she does hold a special place in my heart. I previously wrote about dog love...and thought I would pause for a moment to consider cat love.

My very best friend in the world also owns a cat and a dog. We have spent some time talking about how different and valuable each connection is....about how we know that we will always have a dog in our lives and we know that we will always have a cat.

Cat love is quiet love. Elora is like that old friend you have known for years, whose friendship is carved into the very foundation of your soul. That friend who you can call after a month has past and the two of you can easily slip into conversation as if you had just spoken yesterday. She bears no grudges, she is constant and steady and she brings comfort to your life.

Elora's love is rhythmic...like a heartbeat. It is the love of an old friend.

Elora is gorgeous, she has the most beautiful eyes!

I am now feeling guilty at the lack of photos of my own cat, Kismet, on my blog. I wonder why that is?

Maybe it's because there are more of the dogs. Maybe it's because they are more in your face than she is. Or maybe it's because she pretty much spends all her days sleeping on our bed!!

I'll make an effort to to include her.....in all her sleepy glory.

Elora sure is a little beauty. As much as I love dogs, I pretty much consider myself a cat person. Thanks for sharing this sweetie.

Elora is beautiful. I have two cats in addition to Harriet. They all feel a special place in my heart!

As I read your post my cat Molly is laying next to me on the sofa. In fact she is plastered up against my thigh. She is a very affectionate cat and loves human contact. Elora is such a love and you can see into her eyes to her soul. Cats are awesome aren't they?

Now how can I leave my blog laughing at all the comments all you silly people are makin' over there - write a silly comment back to everyone - and then show up here and cry? Because that's what you can do with your words and your photos.

My heart is STILL so raw from losing Kitty Baby in January that I can't even read my own post about her or look at her picture. (I think the post was before we knew each other - early January.) She was my companion and dear friend for 18 years.

All I am left with now is Hannah-Bo's cat, Mimers, (like a street Mime), and my nickname for her is "Stooey" like the baby on Family Guy. She LOATHES everyone except my daughter. I plan to post about her this week.

Anyway, I know I need to love again but I'm not ready just yet. Your cat has a beautiful spirit that shows on her face and a PURRFECT name. I look forward to having that again in my life.

Now......My blog background....got it from Cutest Blog on the Block. I'm actually having another one designed because it's not completely me. But check them out and see if something else works better for you. If you've been there before they've added more.

I believe Robynn's Ravings will not become famous for its posts but for its BOOK LENGTH comments!! LOL

Hi Andrea,
such green eyes, she's a beauty...
and a lovely name.

I was thinking recently about the names we give our pets ...we had a cat called McGraw - short for 'quick draw McGraw'- he unsheathed his claws at the slightest provocation...

I'm glad Elora got a little blog time here - that last photo looks absolutely angelic! Are she and Sophie good friends too?

She sure has beautiful green eyes. I assume she and Sophie get along. We can't have cats in the castle because they are too Royal and I am the Queen of course. No room for competition here!

Hugs,
Emma Rose

Elora is such a pretty and unusual name for a cat. She is so pretty, and as usual, you've really caught her expression in all these photos.

Aww, you and your friend are so sweet for owning and loving a cat and dog. I'm pretty sure cats and dogs can be best friends if trained properly and with a good environment.

Your cat really seems like a good and honest one. With those eyes, seems like there are a lot of deep thoughts in her mind.

Well put. Cats are a steadier sort than most dogs, but not as demonstrative. I prefer felines, but both have their wonderful points.

Aw cat love, all hairy and such... We are still missing Bell so much. There was another sighting of her a few weeks ago. It still gives me hope to get her back someday. Mo sure misses her too. I can tell a big difference in him. Time will tell.

She has a beautiful face. I love cats too, something about their independence and attitude just endears me.

You're a beauty Elora. I'm in Texas right now feeling the love from daughter's crew (Italian Greyhounds - Oliver & Targa; and the cats - Twiggy & Pena). I have been sick so they are all giving me their kind of medicine...cuddling & purring & licking right on the mouth kind of LOVE. It's very therapeutic:)

I see you already have been given the Lemonade award by several of your bloggy friends.

I guess since I've just awarded it to you also, it is a testament to the upbeat, positive and inspiring blog you have! :)

That last photograph is simply stunning..frameable..it is now my most favorite photo of Elora. I just love her eyes. We have had many cats..all special, I wrote about the saga of Whiskers last fall..I wrote it in installments, and got a little guff ..cause it had a good hook. (November 5 thru 9 of 2008) We don't have a cat now, but there are many feral cats in thearea..and our daughters each have one:)
