In March of 2007, I brought home Sophie...an 8 week old Border Collie. During my time with her I have learned, and continue to learn, a great deal about dogs, about life and about myself.
My blog, Finding Sirius, is about life with Sophie, our adventures and my thoughts on the world around me. Finding Sirius incorporates my love of writing, of photography and of dogs.
It's a lesson we should all take to heart. Let's be happy with the little things. I think of how my daughter's face lights up when she sees a ladybug. Sophie really found a treasure in that torn up ball :)
Ah yes, for Mom it would be a hot cup of tea with a dear friend, a long walk with the pups. And for the pups, why is it that the old and worn out toys are always the most popular?
Ah yes, the simple things, I have found that maxim to be ever so true now that I am in my 40s, and as far as dog toys, Tori's newest "toy" is the empty toilet paper roll, she loves to play fetch with it... but she nudges it in the bathroom while there is still paper on it! (um, yes, cheap toys!)
Oh yes, i like you lessons! And Sophies smile is the world greatest! Mmmh, and now? The Muppetstheme is in my head and will follow me up into the night...;o)
I love the Muppets! I have three muppet albums, me, not the kids. One greatest hits (with faves Rainbow Connection and It's Not Easy Being Green), one Christmas (with John Denver) and one bluesy one with Rowlf the Dog. They make me happy...

Hi! Thanks for visiting my blog, glad you like the dogs (easy to say when you're not living with them!!)
Ah, the Muppets, one of my all time favourite shows. Thanks for putting that song in my head - it's taken me right back to my youth!
In our impossibly busy world, this is a very important lesson to remember!! Thank you Sophie...and that is a very nice ball:)
What a sweetheart she is!
You are so right, You would be amazed how happily you can live with less. Good lesson.
Oh yes, my Chloe found a discarded toy the other day and it's like it's brand new again........aren't dogs the best??
I need that lesson today. Thanks.
Raising my coffee cup in a hearty toast to this lesson!
Oh Sophie, you need a new ball! But that one seems to make even your eyes smile:)

Oh, look at that face! She is so pleased with her find.
